You can drag and drop items from a mainframe application to a local test application, which imports a copy of the item to your local project. The Drag and Drop configuration options determine the translations that occur when the item is copied.
You can copy any of the items that are showing in your catalog search filters, and even set up addition member filters that show only the members you require when you have dragged and dropped the data set to your local project.
When a VSAM file is dragged to the local project, Drag and Drop automatically builds the appropriate profile using the mainframe ACB and RPL information, and calls the Micro Focus DFCONV program to convert the file to the proper Micro Focus format.

When you drag a DB2 unloaded table to a local project, Drag and Drop automatically calls the Micro Focus SQL option for DB2, if it exists, to build a local version of the table. The table must exist and the SQLWizard must be available on the path. The mainframe input file is a sequential file created by a standard DSNTIAUL DB2 unload utility.
You can also drag items and jobs to the mainframe from within the IDE. If you drag and drop a JCL file to the My Jobs folder in Mainframe Explorer, it is submitted to the JES spool.
