If the
Mainframe Explorer window is not displayed, click
View > Mainframe Explorer.
In the
Mainframe Explorer window, log on to the mainframe.
Expand the required search filter until the required item is displayed.
Drag and drop the item in one of the following locations:
A COBOL project in the
Solution Explorer window.
A local catalog in the
Server Explorer window.
Windows Explorer.
Note: If you drag items to Windows Explorer and the
Scan imported members for copy statements option is checked in the Mainframe Explorer Options screen, you are not prompted to also import the additional copy files.
You are prompted for a file name for each local item.
Type a name for the item, then click
OK.
Depending on the types of items you are dragging, you may be prompted for other information, such as a range of records to import.
Respond to the appropriate prompts, then click
Continue.
Tip: If you are importing a lot of items or records, click
Run in Background, which enables you to carry on working while the items are imported.
A copy of the items are imported to your local system, where you can test them with your local projects.
