First of all, you must define a connection to the mainframe, then you can configure the behavior when items are dragged and dropped to and from the mainframe.
Mainframe connections
To use integrated Drag and Drop, you need to define an MFA Server for z/OS connection to the mainframe.
Catagorizing data sets
Drag and Drop is unable to automatically detect Librarian or Panvalet data sets, therefore when those data sets are displayed in a catalog search filter, you must manually set the type. The same is true for VSAM entry sequenced data sets and relative record data sets, unless your mainframe operating system is at a high enough level to support the integrated catalog facility calls.
Configuring an external editor
When opening a data set item outside of the IDE, Notepad is the default external editor; however, you can configure other external editors to be available. Each configured editor is displayed on the Open with menu option when you select an appropriate data set item.
Configuring the Drag and Drop options
Configure switches that control the behavior when items are dragged and dropped; for example, the translations that occur and filtering limitations.
