Server Explorer is a feature that enables you to connect to servers, as well as view and access their resources. For example, you can connect to, view and access the following resources:
- Data Connections
- Servers
- Event Logs
- Services
In your COBOL development system, you can also view and access a Micro Focus server. You can:
- Connect to a Micro Focus server and check which regions are running
- Start and stop Micro Focus regions
- Run and monitor Mainframe Subsystem applications
- Access the enterprise server administration facilities

- View the available
Micro Focus regions on your local machine or connect to an enterprise server running on a remote machine
- Specify sign on details as required
- Open the Enterprise Server administration page to create and configure enterprise server regions.
- Associate Mainframe Subsystem applications with enterprise server regions.
- Start or stop enterprise server regions.
- Update the status of the enterprise server regions.
- Run the mainframe application.
- Use the Enterprise Server administration facilities to monitor the execution of your mainframe applications.
