The MFBSI Configuration File

To simplify scheduler configuration, you can store most MFBSIJCL command line parameters for a given Server Enterprise Edition/MSS region to a configuration file. Storing parameters in a configuration file also means that potentially the only parameter needed to execute MFBSIJCL on a command line is the JCL member name.

Some special parameters are also only available from the configuration file and cannot be directly used in the command line.

By default, the configuration file resides in the location specified by the MFBSI_DIR environment variable. The configuration file name is mfbsi.cfg. You can change the default location and configuration file name as needed with the CFG command line parameter, or set a value for the MFBSI_CFG environment variable.

If a parameter is defined both in a configuration file and on the command line, the command line definition takes precedence.

A model of the configuration file, named mfbsi.cfg_model, is in the %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Micro Focus\Studio Enterprise Edition x.x folder (Windows), or the folder (UNIX, Linux).

That folder also contains a simple JCL rc08.jcl that invokes IDCAMS. You can use this JCL with MFBSI.
