1.0 What’s New or Changed in OES 24.3

1.1 Cloud Integrated Storage (CIS)

Configurable CIS Subnet

By default, cisnet docker uses the IP address 172.16.0.0/16 for container networking. The default cisnet docker IP may conflict with your current network. To avoid IP conflicts, the “Docker Network Setting” option is now available to modify the default docker subnet IP range.

For more information, see Configuring CIS in OES 23.4: CIS Administration Guide.

CIS Firewall Flexibility

CIS can be configured independently of the firewall status. The firewall status can be changed after configuring CIS, ensuring seamless operation in any firewall condition.

As a result, CIS can continue to function seamlessly with or without a firewall.

CIS Data Integrity Inspector

Introducing cisintegrity, a new command line utility that offers a variety of validation options to verify the integrity of migrated objects in cloud storage and databases. This utility identifies orphan objects and deletes them from cloud storage, effectively reclaiming unused space.

For a list of available options, see the cisintegrity man page.

1.2 DNS/DHCP Services

The DNSDHCP Java Management Console for Windows has been rebranded to comply with OpenText standards, and the Java console version has been upgraded from 2.0.10 to 2.0.12.

For more information, see OES 23.4: DNS/DHCP Services for Linux Administration Guide.

1.3 Domain Services for Windows (DSfW)

The integration of a Privileged Account Manager (PAM) software solution within the DSfW environment enhances system security by safeguarding privileged accounts from unauthorized access. This integration enables monitoring, auditing, and restriction capabilities for DSfW domain users.

For more information, see OES 23.4: Domain Services for Windows Administration Guide.

1.4 iPrint Mobile Applications

Updated the iPrint mobile applications for Android and iOS with security enhancements and rebranded them to comply with OpenText standards.

1.5 OES File Access Rights Management (NFARM)

The NFARM Windows client has been enhanced for junction resolution of DFS junctions and AD DFS Namespace chain. Using this enhancement, the user and trustees can exercise their trustee rights to manage, salvage, and purge on that specific junction path.

For more information, see NFARM (OES File Access Rights Management) in OES 23.4: NSS AD Administration Guide.

1.6 Storage Services File System (NSS)

The Cache Devices feature was only available on local pools and devices with a sector size of 512 bytes. Beginning with OES 24.3, 4K Native (4Kn) drives are also supported.

For more information, see Cache Devices in OES 23.4: NSS File System Administration Guide for Linux.

1.7 Unified Management Console (UMC)

UMC Health Script

The umcServiceHealth script has been enhanced to meticulously check the health status of each service and provide a set of resolutions for any detected failures. Moreover, it has the capability to automatically rectify issues, ensuring seamless operations and peace of mind.

For more information, see UMC Health Script in OES 23.4: Unified Management Console.
