You can use this dialog box to specify whether sessions will be saved automatically, whether the Open dialog box should appear when you run Extra!, and whether you will be prompted for verification when you disconnect a session from a host.

Show Open Session Dialog at Startup |
Displays the Open Session dialog box each time you run Extra!. You may want to use this option if you open sessions by double-clicking them in File Explorer, or by double-clicking shortcuts on your desktop. If you clear this option, the Open dialog box will not appear when you run the application. |
Prompt for Disconnection |
Select this option if you want to be prompted for confirmation before disconnecting from a host. This can be helpful in preventing accidental host disconnections. If you clear this option, you will not be prompted when you disconnect from a host; the session will disconnect immediately. |
Expand Page Settings dialog box |
This dialog box lets you edit the navigational path and page identification information for recorded pages. |
Assign ENTER Key to Left Mouse Button Double-Click |
Assigns to the left mouse button, when double-clicked, the same function as the ENTER key. |
Open Multiple Instances of the Same Session |
This option lets you have a session up and running more than once at the same time. |
Disable Event Logging |
Prevents the system from writing session events to the Event Viewer's application log. |
Show Host Name on the Taskbar Icon When Session is Minimized |
Causes the host name to be included in the information displayed on the icon when the session is reduced to a button on the taskbar. |
Enable Keystroke Savings Calculator |
Select to allow the keystroke meter to calculate the number of keystrokes required for each task performed. The Keystroke Savings Calculator calculates the number of keystrokes required for each task, and then displays the actual number of keystrokes saved when those tasks are executed using features such as Auto Complete or Auto Expand. |
Reset Usage Data |
Select to reset the keystroke count to zero. |
Prevent System Sleep |
By default, host sessions are disconnected when the computer enters a low-power state, such as Standby or Sleep. Even though the session reconnects when the computer "wakes," this process resets the connection and data may be lost as a result. |
Set Macro Password Box |
Select to prevent macros from recording passwords. When a macro that contains a password entry is played back, the user is prompted to enter the password. |
Encrypt macros |
This setting enables macro encryption in Extra! Configure the following options: Encrypt existing macros when they execute: This option encrypts macros after they are run. Execute only encrypted macros: This option prohibits any unencrypted macros from running. |
To save settings when closing a session or exiting Extra!
From the Options menu, choose Global Preferences.
On the General page, select the Auto-save Session Settings check box.

Select the Prompt for Session Saves check box.
To show the Open Session dialog box at startup
From the Options menu, choose Global Preferences.
On the General page, select the Show Open Session Dialog at Startup option.
The Open dialog box will display each time you run Extra!.
To be prompted to disconnect sessions upon exiting Extra!
From the Options menu, choose Global Preferences.
On the General page, select the Prompt for Disconnection option.
You will be prompted for confirmation before disconnecting from a host.
