Table 14

Setting

Description

Font

Displays a list of the available fonts from which to select for your display session window. Your display session appears in the font you select.

Size

Displays a list of available point sizes for the font you have selected. The default point size for each font is AUTO which automatically selects the most appropriate font size to fit your display session window.

Margins

Select either Wide or Narrow to adjust the margin width in your display session window. Select Wide to use a wide margin setting where characters are centered in your display window. Select Narrow to reduce extra margin spacing around the text by expanding characters and distributing them using the entire window area. This makes text more readable.

Wide

Uses a wide margin setting where characters are centered in your display window.

Narrow

Reduces extra margin spacing around the text by expanding characters and distributing them using the entire window area. This makes text more readable.

None

Removes the margin and expands characters over the entire window area.

Autosize Window to Font Size

Resizes the display session window automatically based on the font size being used. This reduces empty space around the text.

Advanced

Offers the options to exclude incompatible aspect ratio fonts and allow raster font scaling.

Exclude Incompatible Aspect Ratio Fonts

Excludes fonts with incompatible aspect ratios (the normal height-to-width relationship of the characters). Some scaleable fonts have an unusually large or small number of characters per inch because the image of each character is stretched or squeezed horizontally. Because this stretching and squeezing can make a scaleable font less attractive, selecting this option will allow Extra! to only use fonts that are readable.

Allow Raster Font Scaling

When selected, raster fonts can be scaled. Raster fonts are fonts that are stored as bitmaps.

Sample

Displays an example of the font in the size you have selected.
