The following information appears in the client area for a 3270 printer session:
Device Info: Indicates the type of printer resource, for example LU1 or LU3.
Session State: "Active and not bound" appears when the session was only activated by the SSCP and BIND has not been received. "Bound" appears when the BIND is successful and the printer session is ready to accept print jobs. "Inactive" appears if the printer session has been deactivated by the SSCP.
Server Info: Displays the server name and server software version.
Resource Name: The LU, or LU pool if your workstation is connected to the host via a gateway. This field will also display the name for this LU on the host.
Resource Address: Displays the resource name. Displays the LU number where applicable.
The following information appears in the client area for a 5250 (AS/400) printer session:
Device Type: Displays the printer type that the session is emulating.
Device Name: The name of the virtual device that the session is emulating.
Message Queue: The message queue where printer messages are sent. The default message queue is contained in library QSYSOPR.
To view session status
From the printer session View menu choose the Session Status command.
