To define an SSA

  1. From the tree view or the segment information window, double-click the segment type for which you want to define an SSA.
  2. Do one of the following:
    To define an unqualified SSA
    1. Select Unqualified SSA for segment-type, where segment-type is the selected segment type.
    2. If the segment does not have a unique key defined, select a code other than Null from the Command Code drop-down list.
    To define a qualified SSA
    1. Select Qualified SSA; then click Define.
    2. If the segment does not have a unique key defined, select a code other than Null from the Command Code drop-down list.
    3. Use the fields and controls in the Define qualifier section to build a list of qualifications on the Qualification list. See Qualifications for segment dialog box for a description of each field and control.
      Note: If you are using Boolean operators, the last qualification statement on the Qualification list must be blank.
    4. Click OK.
  3. Click OK.
Note:
  • The IMS Database Editor supports SSAs for up to 10 databases.
  • The IMS Database Editor does not support command codes for segments with unique keys defined. Therefore, for such segments, command codes are disabled.
