System Tables

You must insert data into two XDB Server system tables, SYSIBM.SYSLUNAMES and SYSIBM.SYSLOCATIONS, on the primary XDB Server in order to use three-part names or aliases for server-to-server connectivity. This can be done through SQL commands in the SQL Wizard.

Note: When updating SYSLOCATIONS and SYSLUNAMES, do not change or delete any records that appear blank. These records contain a space character in certain columns and are required to define the locations controlled by your local machine.

You must insert values into columns labeled "required" in order to use server-to-server connectivity. All other columns can have NULL values. Several of the other columns in the SYSIBM.SYSLUNAMES table are used for security mapping. See the chapter Multiserver Security for more information on these values.
