Date Pictures Overview

Restriction: This topic applies to Windows environments only.

A Date picture contains the components used to define date display pictures. You may order the Day, Month, Year and Weekday components any way you like (for example: dd/mm/yy, mm/dd/yy, yy/mm/dd). You can include characters to separate the components. Data must be entered according to the picture format, with a day and year component required.

The strings used for the mmm and mmmm month and www and wwww weekday pictures are defined on the Options utility's FORMAT tab. Separators can be any other characters, and will be displayed in the relative position they occupy in the mask. Commonly used separators are slash (/), hyphen (-), space ( ), and comma (,). In procedures, a date cannot consist of simply a month component.

For additional information, see Date Picture Elements.
