To maintain DDI files

Restriction: This topic applies only when the AppMaster Builder AddPack has been installed, and applies only to Windows platforms.
  1. On the AppMaster Builder desktop in any View, click Admin > DDI File Utilities. If the Administration dialog box appears, enter your password and click OK.
  2. Click any of the following from the fly-out menu:
    • Unlock to unlock the DDI file, by removing any Create or Update locks placed in an entity. Unlock also deletes incomplete entitles created during DDI loading.
    • Backup to copy the DDIFILE, via a DOS COPY, to an OS sequential data set.
    • Restore to copy the backup data set to the DDIFILE.
    • Reorganize to convert the binary portion of the PC DDIFILE-KEY to the same binary storage format used on the mainframe. If you have DBDs, PSBs or VSAM sources that are large or need to be loaded frequently, it may be necessary to run this utility (i.e., especially if you begin to get DDI-1024 errors).
  3. AppMaster Builder immediately executes the process.
Note: The Reorganize utility is for DDI files used on the PC only; it is not applicable for the z/OS DDIFILE. A copy of your unconverted DDIFILE is created and saved under the name DDIUNCNV in case execution errors occur during the Reorganization process.
