Administration

Restriction: This topic applies only when the AppMaster Builder AddPack has been installed, and applies only to Windows platforms.

Some features in AppMaster Builder require the oversight of an administrator.

Access to two of these features is available from the Admin menu in AppMaster Builder:

Project
As an AMB Administrator, it is your responsibility to create and delete projects. AMB provides one default project on installation. The default location is \mfuser\project\group. This is the default project path for each user. Users can specify an alternative project in their AppMaster Builder preferences, but the alternative project must have been previously created by the AMB administrator.
DDI File Utilities
DDI files are source code files that contain statements defining the records that are built into a data view. You can unlock, backup, restore, and reorganize DDI files:
Unlock
Removes any Create or Update locks placed in an entity, and deletes incomplete entitles created during DDI loading.
Backup
Copies the DDIFILE to an OS sequential data set.
Restore
Copies the backup data set to the DDIFILE.
Reorganize
Convert the binary portion of the PC DDIFILE-KEY to the same binary storage format used on the mainframe. If you have DBDs, PSBs or VSAM sources that are large or need to be loaded frequently, it may be necessary to run this utility (i.e., especially if you get DDI-1024 errors).

In addition, AMB administrators are responsible for:

Creating and Maintaining Workgroup Libraries
Create and maintain the workgroup library files that each contain a list of workgroup LAN and/or mainframe library locations.
Implementation of Distributed Generation Server
Install and configure DGS mainframe components and third-party software required to synchronize your generated AppMaster Builder and APS for z/OS code.
Copying Properties to and from Programs and Applications
Use the APPLCPY and PROGCPY utilities to copy the properties of an application or a program and apply them to anther application or program.
