Synchronization and monitoring rules

Set up rules to synchronize mainframe data sets against your workstation directories.

Synchronization can occur in either direction, or both directions.

You can also create monitor rules, which mimic a synchronization rule, but don't actually update anything; view the audit trail to see the changes that would have been made.

Rules are stored in a configuration file, named mfmon2.cfg by default. You can use rules in a different configuration file by accessing Compare and Synchronization Monitor from the command line using the /CFGFILE option or by changing the current working directory once Compare and Synchronization Monitor is open.

When you use the (Sync All Rules) option on the toolbar, all active rules are run. If you don't want to run certain rules, you can toggle their status to make them inactive, or you can run the required rules individually using the right-click menu.
