Create Persistent File

Function:

This tool is used to create a local file permanently in the Eclipse workspace which is managed by AWM. The local file will be copied from the file referenced by the input parameter. The path information for the local file will be managed by AWM internally and is associated with the corresponding element. The persistent file can be used later on with the tool "Locate Persistent File".

The tool "Create Persistent File" works only for element actions, which means that an element must be selected during the execution of this tool.

Note: The tool Create Persistent File is typically performed in check-out actions which are used to copy a file from a remote SCM system to the Eclipse workspace. This tool cannot be used to copy a file into a Micro Focus COBOL or PL/I project. Instead, use Transfer File to copy a file from a remote SCM system into a Micro Focus COBOL or PL/I project.

Parameters:

Parameter # I/O Type Meaning
1 [M] O File References the (remote) file.
