Opening a Mainframe Application

Enterprise Developer for IBM zEnterprise provides a project-based view that allows developers to develop both on and off the mainframe.
The development workflow can be easily customized to meet an organization's specific development processes. Your administrator is normally responsible for defining and maintaining this workflow within the Workflow Manager tool.

In this part of the tutorial, we will be using the Team Developer view with the mainframe application that we installed in the first part of this tutorial.

The first thing we need to do is load the model into the Team Developer tree view.

  1. From the Team Developer tree view, expand the My Applications entry. The Micro Focus BankDemo Tutorial appears.

  2. Right-click Micro Focus BankDemo Tutorial and choose Load Application.
  3. Expand the Micro Focus BankDemo Tutorial project to view its datasets. These datasets are the 'master' copies of the BANKDEMO application on the mainframe.
  4. Expand userid.MFETD.BANKDEMO.COBOL.
Note: userid is the user ID specified when the tutorial files were set up on the mainframe.
The project's COBOL members are listed.
