Enterprise Developer for IBM zEnterprise allows you to use the Eclipse IDE to edit, compile and test mainframe applications directly on the host, as well as providing a full-function mainframe development environment under Windows. In this tutorial, we will demonstrate some of the remote mainframe development capabilities.
Before attempting this tutorial set, you should complete the
Getting Started tutorial set. These tutorials cover the setting up of elements that are used in this tutorial set.
You also need to download the supporting files from the
Micro Focus Web site at
http://supportline.microfocus.com/examplesandutilities/zEntTutorial.aspx.
Important: To complete the tutorial you must apply Hot Fix 1 to both your
Enterprise Developer for IBM zEnterprise Eclipse 2.1 product and the z/Server running on the mainframe.
