Preferences is the Eclipse term for user-configurable options, and you can use them to control many aspects of the IDE behavior. To access the IDE preferences, click Window > Preferences to start the Preferences dialog box.
Within the Preferences dialog box the various preferences are displayed in a tree of categorized pages. The pages under the Micro Focus category relate to Visual COBOL functionality.
Changes made to the IDE preferences are stored in the workspace. This means that, if you switch workspaces, you might want to change the preferences again.
A number of dialog boxes that appear in the IDE have a Remember my decision check box which can be useful if you want to stop the dialog box from appearing in future. You can change these decisions using the appropriate preference page.
