AutoCorrect
The AutoCorrect feature enables you to automatically correct your common typing mistakes. When you type the misspelled versions in the editor, AutoCorrect automatically corrects them.
COBOL Debugging Options
You can specify options that control the behavior when debugging Micro Focus COBOL in Tools > Options > Debugging, and on the COBOL page.
Code Coverage - Report Generation Options
The properties on the Report Generation page in Tools > Options > Micro Focus > Code Coverage enable you to configure the code coverage report file.
Code Coverage - Results Options
The properties on the Results Options page in Tools > Options > Micro Focus > Code Coverage enable you to configure the name and the location of the code coverage report file.
Data File Tools
You can use the setting in Tools > Options > Micro Focus > Data File Tools to control the version of Data File Tools that is used as default.
Compile Single File
The IDE uses the Compiler directives specified on the Single File Compile page in Tools > Options > Micro Focus > Directives when compiling single COBOL files.
Configuring IntelliSense for COBOL - Completion
To configure the behavior of COBOL completion lists for IntelliSense, click Tools > Options > Text Editor > Micro Focus COBOL > IntelliSense.
Configuring IntelliSense for COBOL - Insertion
To configure the IntelliSense behavior when inserting suggestions in the COBOL editor, click Tools > Options > Text Editor > Micro Focus COBOL > IntelliSense > Insertion.
Enterprise Server Configuration Options
You can configure the behavior of Enterprise Server in the IDE from Tools > Options > Micro Focus on the Enterprise Server page.
Line Numbering Options
You can use the settings in Tools > Options > Text Editor > Micro Focus COBOL, and on the Line Numbering page to configure the options for auto-inserting COBOL line numbers.
General Product Options
You can use the General page in Tools > Options > Micro Focus to set general options for this product.
Options for Setting Compiler Directives on Files
You can configure the IDE to automatically determine and set Compiler directives on the COBOL files you add to your projects. You can also perform this operation manually using the Determine Directives context menu command in Solution Explorer. The IDE examines the files and then determines and sets the appropriate directives on the files if those directives are not already set at the project level.
Text Editor Advanced Options
You can use the settings in Tools > Options > Text Editor > Micro Focus COBOL and on the Advanced page to configure some additional features such as the formatting or some of the tooltips.
Text Editor Formatting Options
You can use the settings in Tools > Options > Text Editor > Micro Focus COBOL > Formatting and on the General page to configure features such as the Visual Studio Format Document command or some of the tooltips.
Text Editor General Options
You set general options for the COBOL text editor in Tools > Options > Text Editor > Micro Focus COBOL, and on the General page.
Profiler - Report Generation Options
The properties on the Report Generation page in Tools > Options > Micro Focus > Profiling enable you to configure the Profiler reports.
Scroll Bars
The preferences page, in Tools > Options > Text Editor > Micro Focus COBOL > Scroll Bars enables you to configure the behavior of the scroll bars in the IDE.
Text Editor Tabs Options
You specify options for the indents and for the Tab key in the COBOL text editor in the Tools > Options > Text Editor > Micro Focus COBOL, and on the Tabs page.
Text Editor Margins Options
You can use the settings in Tools > Options > Text Editor > Micro Focus COBOL and on the Margins page to display the margins, the ruler, or turn on smart editing mode.
