Starting Visual COBOL as an Administrator

Depending on the files you create or edit using Visual COBOL, you might need to start Visual COBOL as an administrator. To do this:

Windows 7 and Earlier

1. From your desktop, click .
2. Right-click Visual COBOL; then select Run as administrator from the context menu.
3. If prompted, click Yes.

Windows 8, 8.1, and Windows Server 2012

1. From the Start screen, right-click the Visual COBOL tile.
2. On the bottom of the page, click Run as administrator.
3. If prompted, click Yes.

Windows 10 and Later

• Click Start > All Apps > Visual COBOL.
