This topic lists the messages that the Directory Server can display, and gives an explanation or advice or both for those that are not self-explanatory.
The Directory Server displays messages in the status line in the format:
MDSnnnns message-text
where MDS stands for Micro Focus Directory Server and the variables are:
| nnnn | A four-digit message number |
| s | One of the following severity codes: I Information only; no action is required W Warning: the action you attempted succeeded but with results that you need to be aware of E Error: the action you attempted failed |
| message-text | The text of the message |
Messages with the severity E (for Error) appear in red.
