To Add a Service to an Enterprise Server Instance
Restriction: This topic applies only when the Enterprise Server feature is enabled.
- Click
Details against Services in the Objects column for the server you want to add the service to.
- Click
Add.
- Specify a name for the service in
Name.
- If you have more than one service of the same name in the repository, specify a search order for the service in
Search Order. The lower the search order, the higher the search priority .
- If you want to enable clients to search for services by class, specify the class in
Service Class.
- Change the default value in
Version, if required.
- Choose the type of transaction management appropriate to this service: check either
Application or
Container.
- Click a listener you want to use on this service in
Available Listeners and then click
Add. You can repeat this step to add extra listeners. The listener is added immediately.
- Click the request handler you want to use on this service in
Available Request Handlers and then click
Select Handler. The selection is active immediately.
- Click the implementation package that is to provide the service functionality in
Available Packages and then click
Select Package. The selection is active immediately.
- Choose a status for the service from the list in
Initial status.
- Specify any configuration information the service requires in
Configuration Information.
- Specify a text description of the service in
Description (optional).
- Click
Add.
Note:
- You can also reach the Add Service page by clicking
Edit to the left of the server to which you want to add the service, clicking the
Services tab and clicking
Add.
- You do not have to select a request handler and package for the service when you first add it to the server. You can do this at a later time by going to the Edit Service page.
