To edit an existing record layout file

  1. From the Classic Data Tools IDE, click File > Open.
  2. From the Files of type list, select Record Layout Files (*.str).
  3. Locate the file in its folder; then click Open.
    The Record Layout Editor shows only the record layouts already defined in the current record layout file. From here, you can:
    • Define new conditions
    • Edit existing conditions
    • Create additional layouts
      Note: To create additional layouts, you must first load a Data Division.
  4. When you have finished, click File > Save .
