Adding a Listener to Enterprise Server

To enable support for CTG, you need to add an MSS listener to Server Enterprise Edition so that it can receive and handle client requests from CTG. When you add the listener, you configure it and you specify a port for the listener to listen on.

To add a listener for the demo application:

1. Start Enterprise Server Administration.
2. In Server Enterprise Edition Administration, in the row for ESDEMO, click Edit.
3. Click Listeners.
4. Click Add and fill in the following details for the new listener:
   • A name for the new listener, such as MyECI.
   • A port number to use, in the form *.nnnn, such as 1435. You must use the same number as you specified when you configured the CTG client.
   • The Supported Conversation Type. Set this to MSS Inter-System Communication.

   Then click Add to return to the listeners page.

5. Stop and restart the enterprise server.
