Creating a Service Interface from Workflows

To create a service interface from one or more workflows, specify the workflow(s) when you create the service interface. The resulting service interface is prepopulated with the information collected during the capture process.

Each interaction with a screen is stored in the service interface as an operation bearing the name of that screen. You can rename the operations to better identify them.

A service interface based on one or more workflows cannot be immediately deployed. Before you can deploy it, edit it using the Service Interfaces Editor and make the following adjustments:
  • Remove extraneous information, if it exists.
  • Define output interface fields.
  • Change the direction of interface fields from input to output as necessary.
  • Provide any additional details or your service interface requires, including making improvements as you see fit. You are not limited to the functionality captured initially.

After making all of the appropriate adjustments, you can deploy and run your service interface just as you would a service interface created without workflows.
