You manage your product licensing by using the Micro Focus Licensing Administration tool.
When you install your Micro Focus product, the Sentinel RMS license server is also installed to manage your license. Depending on how your site is administering licenses, you can also request licenses from a central license server.
Some licensing tasks require Internet connectivity from your computer. For example, when you authorize your product a connection is made with a Micro Focus server to verify the authorization code you have used and return a license code string. Similarly, the revoke license process uses a Micro Focus server to revoke the existing license and then provide a new authorization code. Where Internet connectivity is required, it is highlighted in the relevant task help.
This stops licensing being interrupted while updates to the server are installing. When licensing needs to be updated, remove the file and install the server manually. You can also use this process on machines where you need to preserve the production environment.
If your site has multiple licenses and you want to use a central license server to manage them, install the Micro Focus License Manager that is supplied with your product. Individual workstations can then be configured to obtain a license from the license server machine.
The Sentinel RMS license management system supplied with your product does not acknowledge or manage Micro Focus product licenses you have previously installed and that use the Micro Focus License Management System.
If you need to change the machine’s date and time, make sure that you have installed a full license that is not time limited.
