- Windows:
- If you are already licensed to use
Server Enterprise Edition for an application that is executed on a particular machine, you may not need a separate
Server Enterprise Edition license for another application on that same machine. This varies according to the license purchased.
- UNIX:
- For each installation of
Server Enterprise Edition you must use all model 1 licenses or all model 2 licenses. However, on a single machine you can have multiple installations of Server and each installation can use one model or the other. The new model 2 licenses are shared across all installations of
Server Enterprise Edition on a UNIX machine.
- 64-bit on AIX:
- If you install the 64-bit version of Server on AIX, you receive licenses for the 64-bit version. Any licenses associated with a 32-bit version of Server on AIX remain enabled. You cannot use 32-bit licenses with 64-bit Server on AIX, nor can you use 64-bit licenses with 32-bit Server on AIX.
- .NET:
-
If you want to run .NET applications you must have a valid .NET license installed.
