You specify BMS build settings for the BMS screen painter
in the properties of the BMS file within
Studio Enterprise Edition.
When the BMS file is opened from the
Studio Enterprise Edition IDE, the BMS build settings are passed to the BMS screen painter.
You can use the
Studio Enterprise Edition templates to create and add BMS mapsets to your projects. In the IDE, you can open the BMS file properties and set the required BMS build settings. These settings are then used when you invoke the BMS screen painter from
Studio Enterprise Edition.
The BMS build settings enable you to:
- Specify what types of output you want the screen painter to produce
- Enable SDF features
- Specify an SDF prefix
- Specify alignment
- Override the default names given to output files (but only if you are specifying build settings for an individual .bms file)
- Specify what COBOL levels you want to be used for data items generated by the screen painter
- Specify decimal point and currency characters
- Specify that long macro lines can be used
- Specify additional directives
