4.2 Upgrading the Docker Deployment of Secure API Manager

If you are running Secure API Manager 1.x or you want to use the Docker deployment, you must deploy each API Gateway in the API Gateway cluster without losing an configuration information.

  1. Deploy a new instance of Secure API Manager. For more information, see Deploying Secure API Manager Using Docker.

  2. After the new instance of Secure API Manager is deployed, add this new API Gateway in to an existing API Gateway Cluster. For more information, see Create the API Gateway in the NetIQ Secure API Manager 2.1 Administration Guide.

  3. Repeat Step 1 and Step 2 for each API Gateway in a cluster that you want to upgrade.

  4. After you have added at least one new Docker deployment to the cluster, you can delete the old API Gateway. We recommend that you always have at least two nodes in the cluster for vault tolerance. For more information, see Uninstalling a Single API Gateway.
