When you install one of Micro Focus's transports, several pieces of information are added to the InfoConnect database, including at least one path template.
A path template is a combination of one or more libraries, each of which has its own configuration requirements. For example, the TCP library requires an IP address for the host. The TCP-A library requires a station ID for the PC. Both of these libraries are included in the TCP-A path template. Therefore, when you configure a path that uses the TCP-A path template, you must provide all the information required by both of the libraries in that path template.
The Connection Type list box at the top of the Database Editor application window lists all the path templates in the InfoConnect database that are not marked as system or hidden. (If desired, you can view the system or hidden path templates by clicking System Records or Hidden Records from the View menu.) The Connection Type list determines which kinds of paths you can create, modify, and delete, and what kind of information you must provide for them.
