Viewing Scan Errors and Warnings

If errors occurred during a code scan, this information is included in the uploaded scan artifactClosedAny type of file containing information or tasks pertinent to the secure development of an application version. Scan artifacts are used only in Fortify Software Security Center applications. and made available for viewing through the SCAN ERRORS or SCAN WARNINGS window.

To view scan errors:

  1. From the Dashboard, hover your cursor over the application versionClosedA particular iteration of the analysis of a codebase as it applies to Fortify Software Security Center. An application always begins with a first version. An administrator adds new versions, as needed. of interest, and then select Artifacts from the shortcut menu.

    The ARTIFACT HISTORY table lists all scan artifacts uploaded for the applicationClosedA customer codebase evaluated by Fortify software. The top-level container for one or more application versions. When you work with a new codebase, the application and first application version are automatically created. An application includes one or more application versions that users create and configure. version. If errors occurred during a scan, Fortify Software Security Center displays a circled number next to the scan artifact name to indicate the number of errors encountered when the scan artifact was first uploaded. (Subsequent uploads of a given scan artifact do not affect the number displayed.)

  2. To open the SCAN WARNINGS or SCAN ERRORS window and view detailed information about the errors encountered, click the number in the red circle.
