File Reporter 4.1 includes three Agent types:
File System
File Content
Microsoft 365
The file system agent AgentFS, formerly known simply as the Agent, is now referred to as the File System Agent to distinguish it from the File Content Agent introduced in File Reporter 3.5.
AgentFS examines and collects file system metadata and permissions for NTFS and CIFS-compatible file systems.
File Reporter includes AgentFC, the File Content agent. This agent performs file content scanning on files stored in NTFS and CIFS-compatible file systems.
If you plan to utilize file content scanning you will need to install File Content Agents as part of the upgrade process. For more information, see Section 8.0, File Content Scans.
Agent365, the Microsoft 365 scan agent, is responsible for scanning the metadata and permissions of files and folders stored in OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online document libraries, and Teams document libraries.
This agent is new with File Reporter 4.1. For more information, see Section 8.2, AgentFC.
