Desktop layouts allow you to open one or more windows in a prearranged position on your screen. Desktop layouts are especially useful for running multiple sessions. For example, you may consistently work with three display sessions and one printer session. In addition, you may have a QuickPad assigned for each display session. If this arrangement of windows and utilities is saved as a layout, you can re-open all of them with a single command. Using a desktop layout involves defining how you want windows to appear on your screen, saving this arrangement as a layout, and then starting Extra! by opening the layout.
A layout defines how one or more session windows appear on your screen. When re-opened, the saved layout positions the windows the way you defined them. Type a new desktop layout filename, or scroll through the list and select an existing layout file. (We suggest that you use the .ELF extension.)
Open Layout Dialog Box
This dialog box opens a previously saved layout. If you already have a session or layout running, that session will be disconnected and closed before opening the new session (or sessions).
