The Macro Dialog Box

Use the Macro dialog box to specify which macro you want to run, record, edit, or delete. You can edit your recorded macro code or create more complex macros using the Macro Editor.

Description

Macro Name text box

Enter the name of the Macro you want to create, delete, edit, or run.

Macro Name List

Displays a list of the most recently used macros.

Show Only Running Macros in List

When selected, the Macro Name list will show only macros that are currently running.

Run button

Choose this button to run the macro listed in the Macro Name text box.

Stop button

Choose this button to stop the macro after it has started running.

Record button

Choose this button to begin recording the macro listed in the Macro Name text box.

Browse button

Choose this button to display a standard Browse dialog box from which you can select an Extra! Basic macro (.ebm) file.

Edit button

Choose this button to edit the macro listed in the Macro Name text box.

Delete button

Choose this button to delete the macro listed in the Macro Name text box.

Macros Available In

Enter the location to which you want to make your macro available.

Description

(Optional) Provide a short description of the macro. This description will appear in the most-recently-used macro list.

Close

Closes the dialog box.

Help button

Displays Help for this dialog box.

To run a macro

The following steps describe how you can run a macro after you've recorded it, or saved it in the Macro Editor.

  1. From the Tools menu, choose Macro.

  2. Type the name of the macro you want to run or select Browse to locate the macro file, and then choose the Run button.
