The Audit Log keeps track of all the critical events that take place. These events are displayed on the Audit Log page and saved to a file with the extension .LOG. Audit log information can accumulate in the audit log file up to 1 MB. If the file grows to this size, the last half of the file is deleted and events are added to the beginning of the file.
The events in the Audit Log are always listed with the most recent event at the top of the list. Each row provides the time and date the event occurred, followed by the event category and description. In addition to this information, you can double-choose an event to display the Audit Details dialog box.
Together with the information from the Audit Log page (date, time, category, and description), the Audit Details dialog box tells you whether the event succeeded or failed, and displays the data sent to the Audit Log when the event occurred.
The Audit Log Page
The Audit Log Page provides the following information for each critical event.
The date of the event.
The time of the event.
The type of event that occurred. (The text in the Category column is defined by the application using the session. It is not defined by Extra!.)
A brief description of the event. (The text in the Description column is defined by the application using the session. It is not defined by Extra!.)
Additional detail for each event. The Audit Details dialog box (displayed by choosing an event) provides a closer look at the data sent to the Audit log when the event occurred. This dialog box shows whether the event succeeded or failed, and it also allows you to view the data involved.
