The Modem Settings - Connection General Page

You can use the options in the Modem General page to configure and dial a modem. The selections you make are saved when you save your session, and used whenever you use the same session profile.

Description

Modem

Select a modem type from the list.

Setup Modem

Choose this button to display the Windows Modem Properties dialog box and configure your modem and serial port.

Country Code

Select a country code prefix from the list.

Area Code

Type the area code for the number you want to dial.

Phone Number

Type the telephone number you want to dial.

Use Country Code And Area Code

Clear this check box to ignore the information selected in the Country Code and Area Code fields.

Maximum Redials On Busy Or No Answer

Type the maximum number of times you want to automatically redial the number.

Time Between Redials

Select from the list the amount of time to wait between redials.

To make a modem connection

  1. Start a new session, and select Modem as your Connection Type.

  2. In the Modem General and Advanced pages, select and configure your modem, type the telephone number that you want to call, and select or change other options as required.

  3. From the Session menu, choose Connect.
