Spool

Use this page to view the spool files that have been created as a result of submitting JCL on this server.

The spool is displayed as a paginated list which can be navigated through using the left and right arrows and by specifying a page and the number of spool records to display.

Note: Rows that have an Output Type of Active or Dispatch can be cancelled, otherwise they can be deleted.
Name
Enter the job name of the job for which you want to view the list of data sets in a queue. You can use a single asterisk as a wild card.
Merged Spool Index
The merged spool index identifier.
Job ID
The job number of the job for which you want to view the list of data sets in a queue. You can use a single asterisk as a wild card.
Class
The class of the job, as specified on the JOB card.
User
The user ID for which you want to view the list of data sets in a queue. If you did not specify a USER on the JOB card, the user ID is the name of the enterprise server. You can use a single asterisk as a wild card.
Condition Code
The condition code returned by the job.
Submitted
The date and time when the job was submitted.
Started
The date and time when the job was started.
Completed
The date and time when the job was completed.
MPR
Message Processing Region (MPR) associated with the job.
Priority
The priority of the job, as specified on the JOB card.
Message Class
The area under Page and File contains all the messages that were output by the JES system during the running of the job, in chronological order.
Process ID
The Process ID (or PID) of the job.
Codeset
The codeset of the output file.
Restart Count
The number of times the job was restarted.
File
The full path of the file containing the JCL that was run.
Region
The name of the enterprise server region on which the JCL was run.

Filters

You can filter the list by clicking Filter. Selecting from the filter options, and then click Apply.

Merged Spool
Check this to filter the merged spool file.
Merged Spool Index
Enter the merged spool index identifier.
Name
Enter the job name of the job for which you want to view the list of data sets in a queue. You can use a single asterisk as a wild card.
User
The user ID for which you want to view the list of data sets in a queue. If you did not specify a USER on the JOB card, the user ID is the name of the enterprise server. You can use a single asterisk as a wild card.
Job Number
The job number of the job for which you want to view the list of data sets in a queue. You can use a single asterisk as a wild card.
Class
The class of the job, as specified on the JOB card.
Cond
The condition code of the job.
Output Types
Input
Jobs waiting to start. Typically, because no initiator for the correct class is currently available.
All
Check this to check all output and queue types.
In Hold
The Held Input queue. This lists jobs that are held. Specified as HOLD on the JOB card, or Hold button on a job's entry in the input queue.
Dispatch
Click this to see the Dispatch queue. This lists jobs that are scheduled to a batch or printer process but not yet actioned, otherwise known as a transient state.
Active
Click this to see the Active queue. This lists jobs that are currently running.
Complete
Click this to see the complete queue. This lists data sets with the following statuses:
Queue
This lists data sets with the following statuses:
Output
The output files waiting to be printed (usually waiting for a printer for the correct class to be available).
Out Hold
The output files that are held (Hold button on a job's entry in the Complete Queue).
Printed
The output files currently being printed.
Sorted By
You can specify the fields to sort in ascending order or check Descending to reverse the order:
  • Name
  • Job ID
  • Submitted
  • User
  • Class
  • Condition Code
Descending
Check this to sort the output in descending order.
Submitted From
Limit the result to Job Submitted after the given date.
Submitted To
Limit the result to Job Submitted before the given date.
Started From
Limit the result to Job Started after the given date.
Started To
Limit the result to Job Started before the given date.
Ended From
Limit the result to Job Ended after the given date.
Ended To
Limit the result to Job Ended before the given date.
Load on navigation
Check this to load the enterprise server region's spool when navigating to this page. This will filter based on the previously selected conditions.

Click Apply to apply the selected filters to the spool list.

Click Reset to restore the previously applied filters.

Click Defaults to display the following options:
Reset Default Filter
Resets the spool filter configuration to the product default for all users.
Set Current Filter as Default
Saves the current spool filter configuration as the default for all users.
Reload Default Filter
Reloads the default spool filter configuration. Taking this action will also reset the spool list.
