Prerequisites

- You must have access to a mainframe DB2 database for which you can create a DB2 connection by supplying:
- Your DB2 database user ID and password
- The IP address used on your network to connect to your mainframe DB2 database
- The port number used to access your mainframe DB2 database
- The name of the catalog used by your DB2 database
- The name of the package collection your DB2 database uses to talk to mainframe DB2 via a database connection
- The DB2 CCSID value to use in program connection strings
- Install and configure the Microsoft OLEDB Provider for DB2 onto your local machine. See the

Demonstration application
This tutorial uses any DB2 database on your mainframe that includes a SYSIBM or other file containing your mainframe system
catalogs.
