JES queue type Queue

Use this page to view the spool files that have been created as a result of submitting JCL on this server.

Note: The title of the page indicates the type of queue that is currently being displayed, either Input, Held Input , Active, Output, Held Output, or Printed.
Job

Enter a job number in the display field then click this to see details of that job.

Filters

Use this group of fields to apply filters to the list of data sets so that you can just view a subset.

Name filter

Enter the job name of the job for which you want to view the list of data sets in a queue. You can use a single asterisk as a wild card.

User filter

Enter the user ID for which you want to view the list of data sets in a queue. If you did not specify a USER on the JOB card, the user ID is the name of the enterprise server. You can use a single asterisk as a wild card.

Job No filter

Enter the job number of the job for which you want to view the list of data sets in a queue. You can use a single asterisk as a wild card.

Queue

Click one of the buttons to the right of this field to choose a queue to view.

Input

Click this to see the Input queue. This lists jobs waiting to start (usually because no initiator for the correct class is currently available).

In Hold

Click this to see the Held Input queue. This lists jobs that are held (HOLD on the JOB card, or Hold button on a job’s entry in the input queue).

Dispatch
Click this to see the Dispatch queue. This lists jobs that are scheduled to a batch or printer process but not yet actioned (transient state).
Active

Click this to see the Active queue. This lists jobs that are currently running.

Complete
Click this to see the Complete queue. This lists data sets with the following statuses:
  • Output - the output files waiting to be printed (usually waiting for a printer for the correct class to be available)
  • OutHold - the output files that are held (Hold button on a job’s entry in the Complete Queue)
  • Printed - the output files currently being printed

Display

Click this to see details of one of the jobs in the queue. First click the check box to the left of the row describing the job of interest.

Delete

Click this to delete one or more of the jobs in the queue. First click the check boxes to the left of the rows describing the jobs you want to delete. To delete all the jobs click the check box to the left of Display; this selects all the jobs.

Name

Shows the name of the job as specified on the JOB card.

Job No

Shows the number of the job as allocated by JCL Support.

C

Shows the class of the job, as specified on the JOB card.

Pr

Shows the priority of the job, as specified on the JOB card.

User

Shows the user ID under which the job as run. If you did not specify a USER on the JOB card, the user ID is the name of the enterprise server.

Status

Shows the current status of the job. The possible values are

Active The job is currently being executed
Dispatched The job is scheduled to a batch or printer process but not yet actioned (transient state)
Input Hold The job is currently held in the input queue: it will not be executed until you release it
Input Ready The job is currently in the input queue
Other The status is unknown
Output Hold The output from the job is held awaiting release
Output Ready The output from the job is available to be scheduled
Parsing MSS is currently parsing the JCL
SYSOUT Disp The output data set is scheduled to an output device but not yet actioned (transient state)
SYSOUT Hold The output data set is held awaiting release
SYSOUT Print The output data set has been printed but other parts of the job are still pending
SYSOUT Ready The output data set is available to be scheduled to an output device
Submitted

Shows the date and time when the job was submitted.
