Data Tools Options dialog box

General tab
Character set
Select a default the character set for data files
EBCDIC padding byte
Specify a character to use as the EBCDIC padding byte. The hexadecimal equivalent is shown directly below.
ANSI padding byte
Specify a character to use as the ANSI padding byte. The hexadecimal equivalent is shown directly below.
Data File Editor tab
Back up file before editing
Check this to ensure that files are automatically backed up on opening
Open read only
Check this to open files as read only
Always overtype in unformatted view
Check this to specify overtype editing for unformatted view
Update warning
Check this to see a warning message before you update a file
Delete warning
Check this to see a warning message before you delete a record
Show please note message
Check to show low-priority messages
Offsets (from 0)
Select to count offsets from the 0-byte position
Position (from 1)
Select to count offsets from the 1st byte position
IMS DB Editor tab
Update warning
Check this to turn on update warnings during editing sessions.
Delete warning
Check this to turn on delete warnings during editing sessions.
Number of segments per browser page
Specify the number of segments to show on each Segment Browser page.
