Define Lists Tool

Use the Define Lists tool to select specific tables and views with which to generate a list of objects to transfer to your SQL Server database. The Generate DDL tool uses this list to create SQL Server objects. You can run the tool either from the HCOSS user interface, or from the command line using the MFObjectList command.

The Define Lists tool includes the following functionality:

Reads the XML file generated by the Extract Schema tool
Provides a list of available objects
Enables selection of specific objects to transfer
Saves the transfer information to a file, enabling future editing of the list
Note: You cannot change the source schema for an existing transfer list unless it is empty.

HCOSS uses the saved transfer information in the next step of the database migration process - generating DDL tasks to move the data.
