Use this page to view details of a job's execution and change control information for a job.
Specify the number of a different job from the one being displayed, then click this to go to the Details page for that job.
Shows the name of the job as specified on the JOB card.
Shows the current status of the job. The possible values are
Active | The job is currently being executed; the Process ID (PID) of the job is shown. |
Dispatched | The job is scheduled to a batch or printer process but not yet actioned (transient state) |
Input Hold | The job is currently held in the input queue: it will not be executed until you release it |
Input Ready | The job is currently in the input queue |
Other | The status is unknown |
Output Hold | The output from the job is held awaiting release |
Output Ready | The output from the job is available to be scheduled |
Parsing | MSS is currently parsing the JCL |
Click this to hold the job, so that it cannot run until you click Release. (This button changes to a Release button when you click it.) If you have also changed the value for Class or Priority the change is applied.
Click this to release a held job, so that it can run. (This button changes to a Hold button when you click it.) If you have also changed the value for Class or Priority the change is applied.
Shows the class of the job, as specified on the JOB card. If you want to change the class of the job, specify the new class and click Update. For example, you might want to change the class of a job to a class that has a batch printer SEP defined for it, so that the output data sets can be printed.
Shows the priority of the job, as specified on the JOB card. If you want to change the priority of the job, specify the new priority and click Update.
Click this to apply any changes you have made to Class or Priority.
Shows the user ID under which the job was run. If you did not specify a USER on the JOB card, the user ID is the name of the enterprise server.
Click this to delete the job from the queue. All the files associated with the DD statements in the job are deleted.
Shows the full path of the file containing the JCL that was run.
The area under Page and File contains all the messages that were output by the JES system during the running of the job, in chronological order.
Click this to provide a reply to an ACCEPT FROM CONSOLE statement, once you have entered the reply in Enter. You see this only if the job is halted pending a reply.
Specify your reply to the ACCEPT FROM CONSOLE statement.
Lists the output files that were created during the running of the job.
Shows the current status of an output file created by the job:
Active | The job is currently being executed |
Complete | The file has been printed |
Input Hold | The job is currently held in the input queue: it will not be executed until you release it |
Input Ready | The job is currently in the input queue |
Other | The status is unknown |
Output Hold | The output from the job is held awaiting release |
Output Ready | The output from the job is available to be scheduled |
Parsing | MSS is currently parsing the JCL |
SYSOUT Disp | The output data set is scheduled to an output device but not yet actioned (transient state) |
SYSOUT Hold | The output data set is held awaiting release |
SYSOUT Printed | The output data set has been printed but other parts of the job are still pending |
SYSOUT Ready | The output data set is available to be scheduled to an output device |
Shows the class of the job, as it was when the output files were created.
Shows the name of the data set produced by the job step; the first entry is always for the system log, sys.log.
Shows the name of the job step that produced this file.
Shows the number of the job step.
Shows the procedure step, where an output data set was created by a step in a procedure.
Shows the number of records in the output file.
Click this to display details of the output from an individual job step.
