N005: NetBIOS command timed out.
If this error was received while trying to log into the server, then the XDB Server name could not be found. Otherwise, an internal NetBIOS error occurred. Contact Micro Focus Technical Support.
N006: Incomplete network message.
Communications packet was larger than the maximum Receive Buffer size specified by user, either at the server or at the client. If the error was received at the server, check the settings in the XDB Server Configuration utility; if received at the client, check the settings in Options.
N008: Illegal local session number number.
Either the NetBIOS connection to the server was broken (an N024 error preceded this or was ignored) or the connection was never established. For example, this error will occur when a COBOL program attempts and fails to successfully log into the server.
N017: Local session table is full.
Either the maximum number of users specified through the XDB Server Configuration utility are logged into the XDB Server, or the maximum number of NetBIOS sessions allowed by the network software has been reached. In case of the latter, check with your LAN supervisor.
N020: Cannot find name called or no answer.
Either the XDB Server is not running, or you are trying to log into an XDB Server that does not exist. Access Options and change the server name. See the XDB Server Administration Guide for instructions on configuring the XDB Server. You may need to increase the timeout period on the client. Also check that NetBIOS is loaded and that your NetBIOS settings are compatible between the server and the client.
N021: Name name not found.
N022: Name name in use on remote adapter.
Either the specified server name (if error was received on an XDB Server) or the workstation node name already exists on the network. Try using a different node name. See your Setup guide or the XDB Server Administration Guide for information about configuring the node name for a client workstation or an XDB Server, respectively.
N024: Session ended abnormally.
This error message will appear when the connection between the client and the server is broken. Check to see that the server is up and that there is no problem with the network.
N034: Too many commands outstanding.
Internal NetBIOS error. Too many NetBIOS request threads were specified in the XDB Server Configuration. Either reduce the number or edit your NET.CFG for Novell and increase NetBIOS and/or Named Pipe sessions (or in the case of a LAN server increase the number of sessions in the NETBEUI_NIF section of PROTOCOL.INI).
N050: NetBIOS is not loaded.
The XDB Server requires a NetBIOS-compatible network with NetBIOS running. Check with your Network Administrator. Also you must have both IBM and Novell NetWare in your CONFIG.SYS in OS/2.
