Server
|
Use this field to specify the name of the XDB Server you wish to access. You can select from any server in the drop-down list. If you don't see the server you want to use, exit SQLWizard and run the Options utility to add the server to your system. For more information about adding servers to SQLWizard, see the Options utility online help.
|
Location
|
Use this field to specify the location to which you want to connect. You can type a name or click the
Browse button to select a name from the Browse dialog box. The Browse dialog box shows all locations known to the selected XDB Server.
Note: Each time you access the Browse Dialog box, the selected XDB Server is checked for the list of all known locations available and you are logged in to the specified XDB Server with the current AuthID and password. If security is on, you must have SELECT privileges on the XDB Server's system location for this feature to operate correctly.
If you do not click the
Browse button, the XDB Server is not accessed until you connect.

AuthID
|
Use this field to specify the AuthID you wish to use when logging in. The AuthID is used for access security, object ownership, and determining database privileges.
The default AuthID that appears in this field reflects your AUTHID entry in the Options utility. You can type in a different name if desired.
Note: Your AuthID may be remapped to a SecondaryID by your XDB Server Administrator. If you have a SecondaryID, you will log in using one AuthID and appear to be doing work as another AuthID.
|
Password
|
The
Password field appears only if
Security is turned on in the Options utility.
Security must be on in the Options utility if you are accessing an XDB Server that is running with security on. If you are accessing an XDB Server that does not require security to be on, you can choose whether to turn security on or off for your own workstation.
The password you enter must be between four and eight characters and must follow the rules for a short identifier. Your password must meet the specifications for the current "password enforcement level" defined for the XDB Server you are accessing.
