XDB Link AR allows your PC applications to quickly and easily access different types of host data, bringing the power of PC processing and graphical user interfaces to enterprise-wide data applications. XDB Link AR gives you access to host data for both development and production PC applications.
PC production application support is provided by remote static bind access from the PC to create static SQL packages on the host. Code page translation between PC and host platforms is provided in XDB Link.
When using the optional XDB Link host option for MVS in conjunction with XDB Link AR, additional SQL and non-SQL host data can be accessed through the use of remote procedures and the Customer Information Control System (CICS). XDB Host option also provides TCP/IP access from the PC.
