Create an Enterprise Server for the CICS Commarea Tutorial

Enterprise Server comes with a pre-configured enterprise server named ESDEMO. However, it is not configured for Mainframe Subsystem Support (MSS). Therefore, you must create a new enterprise server instance configured for MSS for the CICS application.

1. In Visual Studio, open the Server Explorer.

   If it is hidden, choose View > (Other Windows >) Server Explorer.

2. Right-click Micro Focus Servers and choose Administration from the context menu.

   This opens the home page of Enterprise Server Administration.

   Alternatively, you can start Enterprise Server outside of the IDE in a browser. Enter the following URL in the address bar: http://localhost:86.

3. On the Enterprise Server Administration home page, click Add.
4. In the Server Name field, type CICSCA.
5. Make sure the Working Mode is set to 32-bit.
6. Click Next.
7. In the Server Type group, click Micro Focus Enterprise Server with Mainframe Subsystem Support.
8. Click Next.
9. In the Creation Options group, uncheck Create TN3270 listener.
10. In the Description field, type a description of the new enterprise server, for example, CICS Commarea Tutorial.
11. Click Add.

This displays the Enterprise Server Administration Home page with your new CICSCA server on the list of the available enterprise servers.
