This is a top-level exception which occurs if updating the model or checking for a new model version fails. It can fail for several reasons, including:
- The master configuration, containing information about the newest model version, could not be read.
- The user cancelled an "Enter Password" dialog which was required for reading the master configuration.
- Loading a new model version failed. A more detailed message can usually be found in the error details. Note that the update-check will only happen once per application and Eclipse session.

- Fix any problems which might prevent the master configuration from being read.
- The application can be updated manually by refreshing the corresponding system reference in the Tree View and selecting the "Update Application" action in the context menu of the application. If no "Update Application" action is displayed, then there is no newer version available.
