To drop a table

Restriction: This topic applies to Windows environments only.

To drop a table in the current location:

  1. From the main menu, click Run > Tools > Data Tools > SQL Option for DB2 > Client > SQL Wizard.
  2. If the Catalog Browser window is not open, click * to open it.
  3. On the Catalog Browser window, ensure the Table tab is selected.
  4. Click the table you want to drop.
  5. Click Drop.
  6. Click OK to confirm your request.

SQL Wizard deletes the files associated with the table and removes the entries about the table from the system catalog.

Note: You cannot recover a table once it has been dropped.
