Managing Users and XDB Server Access Overview

Restriction: This topic applies to Windows environments only.

The Users command on the Admin menu allows an XDB Server Administrator (super user) to add, view, and modify AuthID specifications for all users of the currently connected XDB Server, including whether a password is required at connect time and the type of user (user or super user). The XDB Server Administrator can also assign a selected user to one or more groups, thus providing an easier means of granting database privileges to subsets of the user population who have similar needs. In addition, XDB Server Administrators can remove users (temporarily or permanently), assign priorities to users for XDB Server access, and provide a SecondaryID. (SecondaryIDs provide an alternate means of assigning privileges to groups of users.

When the Users command is selected from the Admin menu, the Add/Modify User dialog box is displayed. This is where you will add, delete, and update AuthIDs.
